Simplicity 2633

First, thanks to all of you who commented about my hair post. After washing it a couple of times, it seems to have evened out. I even got a compliment on it from a waitress last night at a place we went to eat. I am seriously thinking about tackling it myself, though.

Anyway, I bought Simplicity 2633 awhile back during a Hancocks Fabrics sale. I loved the pleated sleeves and I love ruffles. I used some forest green fabric that I found in my stash. I have no idea where I got it or how long I have had it. I am guessing I have had it at least 5 years. I don't even know what it is. It is lightweight like broadcloth but it looks sort of linen-y. It sure does wrinkle and it is hard to press them out.

I made this top to go with the pants I have on with it. They are cream colored with light gold stripes. I got them a couple of years ago on deep discount at Express. If I had it to do over again I would make the top a little longer because I wear a belt with it. It is okay in length though for that. I did not make any alterations and sewed a size 12 straight from the pattern. I really love this top and wore this outfit with it to work on Thursday.

Here is a closeup of the sleeve and of the front.

For the life of me, I don't know what that white dot is on that sleeve. I didn't see any lint when I took the pic, but it was probably that and the flash picked it up.
As far as the inside goes, I pressed the seams flat and serged the edges. Until next time, God bless you.

Very cute! I bought this pattern for the interesting sleeves, but never thought to put the ruffle on with it. I love them together and just might copy. :)

Very feminine, pretty blouse. The sleeve looks like a pleated petal sleeve. Unique.

I saw this pattern last weekend at Hancock Fabrics for $1.99 and passed it up. Wish I didn't because I like the changes you made to it. I need to put it back on my list.
